How To Run Optifine
The official optifine website has no install instructions on it on the FAQ or anywhere else, which boggles my mind. I've googled around for this and all the tutorials are from older versions and refering to the .jar file as executable, which isn't, since Minecraft runs it's own self-contained version in the installation files, and thus, there's no need to have java installed on the computer.
So I'm stuck. All the tutorials I find either say to just run it as an .exe which I can't, or the manual installation of dragging the files in the optifine .jar file to the 1.9.jar with the file name changes and the profile edit to use the modified one fail since it'll download a new copy under the same and discard any changes. Can someone explain to me how you do it in the 1.9 version?
