Street Fighter X Tekken is the newest game and somewhat different game in the Street Fighter series of games. Capcom have developed this game with merging two games which are Street Fighter and Tekken. The game is read as Street Fighter Cross Tekken. Capcom being the developer of the game the gameplay is based on Street Fighter series and not on Tekken so it’s a 2D affair rather than 3D. Namco is only involved with the licensing of the characters from their game Tekken. Namco is currently developing their own crossover game between the two, named Tekken X Street Fighter which will be a 3D version as it’s based on the 3D gameplay of Tekken series. Street Fighter X Tekken is a game for all the fans of the series who wanted to make a team of the characters from each of the games. With all the characters stuffed together in this game the developers needed a background for all of them to fight each other. So the developers gave a story that involves an artifact called ‘Pandora Cube’. Pandora was in the space for a long time and it traveled on a meteor and it has a lot of power. Power is the reason that every fighter on earth is trying to get the box. The main two parties that are trying for world domination are the M. Bison Shadaloo group and the Mishima Zaibatsu. The story of Street Fighter X Tekken doesn’t matter as the main focus will be on fights. If you are looking for a very substantial story then you should look for some other game that will give you what you want. The Arcade Mode is where the story plays out and it is very light in terms of material on the story department. You will be given a partnership choice at the start of the game and once you have selected your team a screen will show your choice and some message. Once you begin the game after that you will be fighting a number of teams. After you finish the team fights a boss fight will be conducted and if you win it a short cutscene or a black screen with some text will be shown which explains what happened to your character. The boss bights, dont go expecting too much from them as the characters that are available at the start of the game are the ones who you will fight during these boss fights and nothing grand is present to take it to a greater level. These end-of- fight cutscenes are not as satisfactory as we would have liked or come even close to the character specific cutscenes from Street Fighter IV. The game also features a co-op mode where a second player can join you during the fight. The character roster of this game is the biggest yet in the Street Fighter series. The characters play similar to the previous game Street Fighter IV and handle the same way as before which is great. The game used the standard sic button combos and some elements like winning a fight is taken from Tekken. If during any fight your health or your partner’s health reaches zero then it’s over and you have lost the fight.
The game is really good and every fan will be excited to play this. We hope this gets popular as the last game as it’s a good game in the series and gives you something different than the previous games. Even though you won’t have much of a story to look at the game itself doesn’t need any to make it better. Street Fighter X Tekken gives you a solid gameplay and you will be playing the game for a long time.
