Hello, I am redoing my dads pc and ran into a big problem. I just installed window xp Service pack 3 and now the internet wont work, it says in the Device Manager that I am missing the Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus, Other PCI Bridge Device, SM Bus Controller and the Video Controller.

I see a missing driver for a device called Video Controller (VGA Compatible) in the Windows Device Manager. The hardware id is PCI VEN 8086 DEV 0106 SUBSYS_1858103C which a Google search suggests is in an Intel HD Graphics family, but I don't know where to locate the driver. The vendor ID of Multimedia Audio Controller is 8086 and the device ID is 24D5. The vendor ID of Video Controller is 8086 and the device ID is 2572.  I AM EXPECTING THAT KNOWING THE VENDOR ID AND THE DEVICE ID WILL LET ME QUICKLY FIND THE APPROPRIATE DRIVER. HOWEVER, I COULDN'T FIND THE APPROPRIATE DRIVER. Scroll through the list and locate 'Other Devices.' Note that it will have a yellow question mark next to it.

Click on the 'Plus' sign next to 'Other Devices' to expand the selection. Each device with missing drivers will have a yellow exclamation point next to it. Make a note of each device driver that is missing.

Step 4

Install the drivers automatically using your Windows XP system disk. Right-click the device and select 'Update Driver.' Select 'No, not this time' and click 'Next.' Click 'Install from a list or specific location' and click 'Next.' Click 'Search for the best driver in these locations,' place a check mark next to 'Search removable media' and click 'Next.' Allow Windows to locate the correct driver and follow the prompts to install it. Skip this step if you do not have a Windows XP system disk or if it could not find the appropriate drivers.

Step 5

Open a Web browser and visit the website for your computer's manufacturer. Locate the 'Drivers and Downloads' section and enter information about your computer. Click 'Search.' Note that some manufacturer's websites allow you to simply enter your serial number and the system will automatically locate the necessary drivers for your computer.

Step 6

Locate the driver category that best corresponds to the missing drivers on your computer. Locate the most recent driver package within the category.

Step 7

Download the necessary driver packages and save them to your desktop. Double click the driver package file and follow the prompts to install the driver. Repeat installation for each driver that you downloaded.

Restart your computer. Open the Windows device manager up again and verify that there are no longer any yellow question marks or yellow exclamation points.

I had my xp pro sp3 re-installed by a volunteer & his homemade disk. The computer is offline, there is no internet service. I have a chromebook & memory stick to copy driver files when found. This is coffeeshop access.
Device manager lists 4 problem devices:
1. nvidia network bus enumerator
2. pci simple communications controller
3. video controller
4. audio device on high definition audio bus
Follow each to properties & got the 'name' for each. They are a long series of numbers_letters. Thinking this is the drivers, pen to paper, dress as its cold for july, get out my bike, go to 'mcland' for coffee & internet.
Search: pciwen_10de&dev_0269&subsys_2a34103c&rev_a33&2411e6f&0&a0. I assume all the zeros are not o's.
NO results in google. Have not searched the other 3.
How do I find these drivers, get on to a memory stick, then into the offline computer?
Please do not respond in jargon, please do use the words found in windows xp as there is a search option for terms I do not understand.
